Status 8020 is a kick-ass nutrition and training app, founded by the one and only Sally O’Neil from The Fit Foodie. The brand is all about performance over ego. The intangible over the tangible. How we feel over how we look. A totally no-bullshit approach to health and life as we know it, giving her clients the power back to change their status.
The brand has a core focus on 80% nutrition, 20% training, with a badass attitude towards a healthy relationship with food and exercise, and for it to be totally A-okay to have that bar of choccy or that glass of vino.
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Sal from the very start of her biz journey. Through a collaborative and strategic approach to branding, together we worked on the brand name, and I set her up with an absolute killer strategy, which was of course then brought to life through the most delicious brand identity.
The strategy we landed on is fueled with attitude and is some of the most epic copywriting you’ve ever seen. With phrases like “Status:Strong” and “Regain Your Power”, the brand takes a totally no bullshit stance on nutrition as we know it. No more booty pics, and no more before and after shots. Status 8020 is all about a state of being, and a perfect balance of 80/20.
Then we were onto the brand ID, which was completely fueled by all of the strategy. Through a strategic approach to branding, this allowed us to create the most perfect branding that is in complete alignment with everything Status 8020 stands for.
How is this doing GOOD things for people
Firstly, Sal is an absolute boss lady and all-round legend. The mission of her brand, Status 8020, is to provide science-backed nutrition education, tailored meal plans, self-care tools and unique training programs, through a member-exclusive app and community. She provides a holistic approach to nutrition, health education, training and recovery – no more bullshit and no more aesthetics — just the science.
She just wants to help you feel good, and if looking good is a result of that, then that’s just a bonus. She cares about progression, new PB’s and empowerment through education. It’s all about creating the life and energy to do more of what we love, and less of what we don’t.
It’s a status-based approach to health, which basically means they’re all about a state of being. It’s more about how we feel and less about how we look. They’re about a status of power.
